Research experience

2024 – 2025
Research Assistant, Princeton Vision & Learning Lab
with Prof. Jia Deng

InfiniViTac, co-first author: built a dual-GelSight real-world evaluation rig and collected open-world tactile data across 60 objects and 10 scenes; built the rigid-body simulation baseline that isolates the effect of simulation fidelity.

FetchBench: built a collision-data generation pipeline spanning 6,000 procedurally generated environments, then finetuned and evaluated state-of-the-art collision-detection models across those environments.

2025 – 2026
Research Assistant, ZLab, Princeton University
with Prof. Zhuang Liu

Systematic analysis of reasoning training in vision–language models: how distillation teachers, data mixtures and base models shape the reasoning behaviour that is learned. Led evaluation and behavioural analysis, built a quantitative taxonomy for comparing reasoning behaviour across models, and found a bug in a widely used open-source evaluation framework.

Theoretical and mathematical work

2025 – 2026
Critical batch size in neural network optimization
Senior thesis, with Prof. Boris Hanin

When increasing batch size stops buying proportional speedup, combining stochastic modelling of SGD with empirical scaling experiments.

2025
Cryo-EM reconstruction
Junior independent work, with Prof. Marc Aurèle Gilles

Cryo-EM as a high-dimensional statistical inverse problem, focusing on latent-variable inference and spectral methods for molecular heterogeneity.

Honors

Elected member, Sigma Xi
The Scientific Research Honor Society, elected by the Princeton mathematics department upon graduation
